Many years ago, the Lord put in my heart a love for world missions, the local church, soulwinning, and church planting. As a young married man, God directed me to Canada where soulwinning and church planting were tough, yet it was a joy to serve as a missionary for ten years. Then God directed my family and me back to my home church in Florida where Pastor Greg Neal allowed me to serve as an assistant pastor and help with missions and work in the local church for twelve years.
One of the missions endeavors that God put in the heart of Pastor Neal is something that ties together a passion for world missions, the local church, soulwinning, church planting, and serving national pastors. This is what we now call the Great Commission Mission. This ministry has already been active for several years in Africa and the Caribbean as well as parts of South and Central America. This growing missions endeavor has now become too large for one church, one pastor, and one missions director.
After several discussions, meetings with Pastor Neal, and much prayer, I am following the Lord’s leading to become a full-time missionary again and serve as the director of the Great Commission Mission. There is excitement mixed with apprehension. It has been a long time since my wife and I traveled on deputation, and I am no longer a young man. However, the same God Who did the empowering, the enabling, and the supplying of needs for this missionary years ago can and will do it again! We covet your prayers as we begin traveling in 2025 to raise monthly support and ministry support.
There is much to explain with the Great Commission Mission and how God’s command to reach the world can be accelerated. There is much to accomplish with the Great Commission Mission. Would you pray with me that God will provide the strength, wisdom, and open doors to see many soulwinners trained, many churches planted, many church buildings built, and many souls saved in the next few years! He is able!
Sincerely,
David Crews
